About Us
The South Asia Initiatives (SAI) is a USA-registered, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting human rights and strengthening democratic values across South Asia. As an independent, research-driven entity, SAI critically examines, evaluates, and advocates for policies that impact these crucial areas.
At SAI, we place a strong emphasis on policy and human rights research that is transparent, reliable, and collaborative. By producing comprehensive analyses, we aim to provide insights that not only inform policy but actively shape the discourse around democracy, human rights, and discrimination in the region. Our research is intended to influence key decision-makers, helping to bridge the gap between policy development and the real-world challenges. To achieve these objectives, SAI partners with a wide range of stakeholders, including civil society organizations, policymakers, scholars, and other critical voices. By bringing these groups together, we amplify the call for the protection of human rights and democratic freedoms, giving voice to addressing injustices head-on.
Through collaboration and dialogue, SAI works to build a resilient South Asia where every individual’s rights are respected and protected.

SAI’s Objectives
In an increasingly complex political landscape, SAI continues to work with democracy, human rights, and non-discrimination and inclusion in South Asian countries.
1. To conduct studies and analyses to provide critical perspectives to interested parties, enabling them to formulate policies that safeguard human rights, combat discrimination and strengthen democratic institutions across South Asia.
2. To organize educational institutions and corporate organization based conferences, symposiums, and dialogues to foster the necessity of protecting human rights, advocating non-discrimination, and supporting the development of democratic institutions across South Asia.
3. To develop a database to store accurate data on human rights, non-discrimination, and democratic practice in South Asian countries.
