The South Asia Initiative (SAI) expresses deep concern over the recent attack by India on Pakistani territory. Such military actions not only escalate bilateral tensions but also jeopardize the stability, economic cooperation, and peace-building efforts of the entire South Asian region.

South Asia Initiative (SAI) believe that regional security and political stability are essential foundations for sustainable development across South Asia. Continued conflict between two major powers undermines the hopes and opportunities of the region’s people. We therefore urge both governments to exercise restraint, engage in constructive dialogue, and seek a peaceful resolution through diplomatic means, including international mediation if necessary.

South Asia Initiative (SAI) strongly condemn the reported forcible pushback of people from India to Bangladesh by Indian authorities, occurring on the same day as the military strike on Pakistan. These dual actions not only risk inflaming regional instability but also raise serious concerns about human rights and international norms.

Now more than ever, our collective efforts are needed to transform South Asia into a region of peace, prosperity, and shared progress.
